Join the UIC Department of Black Studies throughout the months of September, October and November for a virtual lecture series on the global socio-historical, economic and systemic effects of racism.

The global dynamics of racism not only intersect with citizenship, belonging and constructs of the nation-state; they also co-mingle with gender, sexuality and ability. This series will highlight race and racism from a variety of disciplinary perspectives and geographic contexts.

Join the department of black studies for the last lecture in this series!

November 14 @ 3:30pm CST

Dr. Anna LaQuawn Hinton, Assistant Professor of Disability Studies and Black Literature & Culture, Department of English, University of North Texas

Conversation Title: Black Feminist Disability Studies Meets Hip Hop Feminism in Janelle Monaé's Dirty Computer
