Meet the team supporting FLN students

Please feel free to contact staff with questions and appointment requests.

The Flames Leadership Network is a signature program of the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE), one of UIC’s largest academic support units. ACE is part of the Office of Student Success and Belonging, which helps students from all backgrounds succeed at UIC through academic support, advising, and programs that build connection to campus.

The Office of Student Success and Belonging provides strategic direction and oversight for the Academic Center for Excellence and the Flames Leadership Network.

ACE leadership directs and supports the Flames Leadership Network and all ACE programs, ensuring students receive comprehensive academic support.

FLN Transition Coaches are your primary points of contact for support throughout your first year at UIC. These dedicated professionals provide one-on-one mentoring, help you navigate campus resources, and support your academic and personal growth. Each coach works with approximately 125 students, ensuring you receive personalized attention and guidance.

While Academic Specialists primarily support other ACE initiatives, they are also available to FLN students. Your Transition Coach may connect you with an Academic Specialist for additional support in developing or enhancing skills such as time management, test-taking strategies, and academic writing.
